Travel Diary 7: DRC VISIT UNCERTAIN

This is their “winter” and I’ve been chilly since I got off the plane and with no heater in the rooms, our bedrooms stay around 66-67, 24×7. Outside it is only a few degrees warmer. But today had some warming moments.

It was one of those “a little bit of this, a little bit of that” kind of days. It started out with an appointment at International Leadership University (ILU) to officially hand over what the VC is calling the “first fruits” of my library donation. That was followed with a short meeting with our Kenyan Coordinator who came to pick up a laptop I brought for his friend. That was followed with a Covid test. And the day concluded with a Zoom meeting to discuss an upcoming Apologetics Certificate class that I am being asked to participate in. For a few more details and to get the link to the picture album to see an assortment of pics I uploaded today, click READ MORE below.

Travel Diary 5: EXPANSION COMING SOON

Friday was my transition day from Yaoundé, Cameroon to Nairobi, Kenya. The processes and steps were normal but progressing through the steps was, at times, painfully slow. And my early morning arrival in Nairobi had an unfortunate ending. The next few days in Nairobi were not originally on the schedule. I am waiting to see what the Lord has in mind. Click on READ MORE below for a few details and prayer requests.

Travel Diary 3: THE TECHNOLOGY CHALLENGE

Today was a simple day and an encouraging day. But there was something I neglected to mention yesterday that I’ll start with today. As many of you now know, I am interested in launching an ITEM Youth Ministry built on the foundation of apologetics. When I started to question Joseph about the youth in Cameroon, I got an answer I wasn’t expecting but it shouldn’t have surprised me. Click here to read about his answer.

Travel Diary 1: Blame It On Babel

Monday was a busy day. The day started with an appointment with the Vice Chancellor of ILU (Intl Leadership University, formerly Nairobi Intl School of Theology where I taught as an adjunct 1998-2003). That was followed a couple of hours later with an online Apologetics Workshop. I was the Keynote Speaker and needed those two hours to do final prep. Then, it was, eat lunch, pack, and head to the airport. I am at the airport, in the lounge now.
So, the this trip has ended but I have a feeling it is more of a beginning.

picture album with a few unique photos.

Travel Diary 2: Greetings from Liberia

Greetings from Liberia. It seems like only 36 hours ago I was getting out of bed at the Red Lion near the Portland airport. And it was! It’s been a mostly (I said mostly) uneventful trip. There were a couple of frustrating, patience stretching moments but they are no in the rearview mirror. Click here to get a few more details, a preview of our time in Liberia, and a link to a few new pictures.
