Back to Entebbe

Hi Everyone,

Not much to report today.

VIDEO SHOOT

The studio where we were going to record interviews was way expensive so we did two interviews at the hotel where I was staying. They were each 5 minutes. The topics were: Worldview and Finding The Bible to be True As a Believer. When they are edited and posted on the internet, I’ll send a link. It will probably be a few days since our videographer has a longer trip home than I had coming back to Entebbe.

THE TRIP TO ENTEBBE

We didn’t get started on the trip back to Entebbe, where the Uganda airport is located, until about 11:15am. So, knowing that our trip from Entebbe took 6.5 hours, I did the math and figured we would be here about 5:30ish. The first half of the trip was covered more quickly that the other day but the closer we got to the capital of Kampala, things started slowing down and it ended up taking, basically the same, 6.5 hours.

Along the I took a video of a couple of small towns as we passed through them and a video of the Nile River where we crossed. You’ll note the video of the Nile has an interesting. I was not supposed to be taking any video/photos of the river by order of the govt. I didn’t know that and there were military just ahead so the guys shouted at me and I dropped my phone while taking the video.

THE TAKE AWAY

On balance, the time in Gulu was not as cost effective as I like. But we broke ground in a very important part of Uganda and the next time, things will be very different. The travel will cost the same (probably) but everything else, EVERYTHING will be cheaper; free lodging, a free meeting hall, cooperation from the university, etc. Moses believes the next time we could have 500 students, actually 1000 if we could afford it.

I’ll be in touch if I have something more to share like pics or videos from today’s interviews. Thanks for coming along and praying.
